This is a very nice example of a Victorian - Eastlake pier mirror. Unfortunately, it had been cut off by a previous owner in order to fit into a smaller house.

A customer came to me and asked if we could restore this lovely mirror back to the original condition with the base replicated from a picture found from an old estate.

 

We used some Black Walnut stock to re-construct the base.  We also turned some columns and applied a beautiful piece of Burl Walnut panel. Then we etched in the decorative design and add gold leafing to match the original above.

Here is the mirror after we blended in the base matching the original finish. Now all it needs is the mirror re- installed.
